Gadkari: Dwarka Eway Tunnel Launch This Month, Manesar Flyover Work to Start in June

Nitin Gadkari, the Union minister for road transport and highways, has said the Centre is working on a comprehensive plan to ease commuting between Gurgaon and Delhi, focusing on the construction of an elevated corridor from Dhaula Kuan to Manesar.
During a meeting with Union minister of state Rao Inderjit Singh on Monday, Gadkari outlined several key projects aimed at streamlining travel between Delhi and neighbouring districts by widening existing roads and constructing new ones. The highways ministry, Gadkari said, has commissioned a comprehensive feasibility study for these new flyovers and tunnel corridors, and officials have been asked to submit reports in three months.
Addressing concerns about delayed projects, Gadkari set strict deadlines for pending work on the Gurgaon-Pataudi-Rewari national highway and the elevated road to Manesar. New contractors, he said at the meeting, will be appointed through fresh tenders by April 15, while construction is scheduled to begin in June.
The long-awaited Dwarka Expressway tunnel is scheduled to open by the end of this month, the highways minister said, adding that it would significantly improve connectivity between Delhi and Jaipur.
At the meeting, Rao Inderjit raised concern about the relocation of the Kherki Daula toll plaza, which residents of nearby sectors have been demanding for long. Gadakari, sources said, told him that the toll would be shifted to Pachgaon, where Haryana govt has already identified land. Among other projects that Gadkari discussed was a four-lane highway from Nuh to Firozpur-Jhirka border, for which the Centre has sanctioned Rs 400 crore. He also spoke about strategic improvements for underpasses and foot overbridges at Rathiwas and Salawas junctions, along with the expansion of Masani barrage stretch near Dharuhera.
