Elan Group awards ₹840 crore construction contract to Tata Projects in Gurugram

Elan Group’s decision to award an ₹840 crore construction contract to Tata Projects for its ultra-luxury residential development Elan The statement in Sector 49, Gurugram, is being seen as a significant confidence booster for homebuyers and investors in the region’s premium housing market.
The move comes at a time when discerning buyers are placing increasing emphasis not just on location and design, but also on execution certainty, construction quality and timely delivery, factors that have gained prominence following years of uneven project completion across the NCR market. By onboarding a construction major with a strong track record, Elan Group is seeking to address these concerns head-on.
Elan The Statement is being developed with a total planned investment of around ₹1,600 crore across nearly six acres in one of Gurugram’s most established residential corridors. The project comprises five towers offering ultra-spacious residences with super areas ranging from approximately 4,285 sq ft to 7,270 sq ft, targeting end-users seeking large-format, low-density living in a central location.
For homebuyers, the involvement of Tata Projects brings a layer of institutional credibility and engineering depth, which is often seen as a critical differentiator in the ultra-luxury segment. Industry experts note that reputed construction partners help minimise execution risk, ensure adherence to timelines and deliver higher-quality finishes, elements that directly influence long-term asset value and livability.
Beyond individual buyers, the contract award also has broader implications for regional housing inventory. Sector 49 and surrounding micro-markets have witnessed a steady tightening of ready and near-ready luxury supply, driven by strong absorption and a cautious approach by developers towards new launches. Projects backed by established developers and executed by reputed contractors are therefore expected to command stronger interest and set benchmarks for quality-led development in the area.
Architecturally, the project has been designed by Benoy, the London-headquartered global design firm, and features a striking metal-and-glass façade, a relatively rare design expression in Gurugram’s residential landscape. Each residence is planned with a two-units-per-core configuration, private lift lobbies and a strong emphasis on privacy, features that align with evolving buyer preferences in the post-pandemic luxury housing market.
Commenting on the development, Rakesh Kapoor, Chairman, Elan Group, said the appointment of Tata Projects reflects the developer’s focus on disciplined execution and long-term value creation, adding that projects of this scale require partners with proven engineering and delivery capabilities.
Raman Kapil, President & COO – Buildings and Infrastructure, Tata Projects Ltd, said the company is pleased to associate with Elan Group on a project that aims to redefine luxury residential living and contribute to Gurugram’s evolving skyline.
Market observers say such partnerships are likely to raise buyer confidence across the region, encouraging faster decision-making and healthier absorption. As Gurugram’s luxury housing market matures, construction-led credibility is emerging as a key lever in unlocking both end-user demand and investor interest, particularly in established, infrastructure-rich locations like Sector 49.
