GMDA to Reconstruct Key Gurugram Road and Build Flyover

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) announced plans to reconstruct a major master sector dividing road from the Dwarka Expressway junction with Sector 86 Road to IMT Manesar at a cost of ?600 million. This road, currently in severe disrepair, will pass through Sectors 84/88, 85/89, 86/90, and 87/92. Additionally, GMDA will build a ?590 million flyover at Dadi Sati Chowk in Sector 86.
“The road will be reconstructed similar to Rampura Road, and the tender for this has been floated,” stated Arun Dhankhar, GMDA’s chief engineer. Special repairs for major roads across Gurugram are also planned, with tenders to be awarded in the first week of August.
Officials noted that traffic has increased significantly in the area following the opening of the Dwarka Expressway. Rebuilding the road is expected to alleviate congestion. Eight companies have bid for the project, and the contract will be awarded next month.
GMDA is also addressing other infrastructure improvements. A tender for the special repair of service roads along master sector roads in Sectors 58 to 67 will be awarded, with ?360 million allocated for this work. Ten companies have submitted tenders.
In addition, the authority plans to develop sports facilities, including a mini-golf course, lawn tennis, and badminton courts, on the green belt along National Highway 48 in Sector 15 Part 2. An amount of ?55 million has been approved for this development.
Dhankhar emphasized that by the end of December, special repairs on all GMDA roads will be undertaken, ensuring that the entire network is in excellent condition by next year.
